Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is all set to launch its latest flagship – P9, in India. The company has sent out media invites for an event scheduled for August 17, where it will likely unveil the smartphone.
Launched in China in April this year, the USP of the Huawei P9 is its dual 12MP rear camera setup with Leica SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25-micron pixels. The hardware promises to deliver exceptional image quality even in low-light conditions.
Talking about the specifications, Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system topped with the company’s Emotion UI layer, and is powered by Huawei’s home-brewn HiSilicon Kirin 955 octa-core processor. The phone comes in two variants — 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The storage capacity can be expanded using microSD cards of up to 256GB in size.

The phone also incorporates a fingerprint sensor at the back, along with a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support.
Recently, Huawei posted a 40% rise in first-half sales revenue and said it would “maintain current momentum” this year.
Sales revenue reached 245.5 billion Yuan ($36.8 billion) in the first six months of 2016, the company said in a statement. Operating margin fell to 12% from 18% in the previous half-year as well.
